Tim Stockil

Ci:Creative Intelligence is run by Tim Stockil who has twenty-plus years of experience as a trainer and developer.

Tim read French at Oxford University (BA Hons, MA) before training as a director at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He worked in the theatre as a director and general manager for ten years before joining Arts & Business (then known as ABSA) in 1984. In a wide variety of posts within Arts & Business, Tim always remained involved in training and development for both arts executives and business managers. He created ground-breaking programmes in areas such as corporate governance, leadership and negotiation skills, and the Persuasive Communications Programme which he developed won a National Training Award. He took his Certificate of Training and Development (CiTD) in 1990.

As Director of A&B's Creative Development department, Tim was at the forefront of the expansion of creative training and development, establishing A&B's position as one of the leaders in this field in Britain and internationally. As well as helping artists to recognise their own capabilities in this area, he has delivered creative training programmes for a wide variety of businesses and other clients such as ITV, the National Trust, Zurich, Unilever, Marks & Spencer, Legal & General, Ernst & Young, the Foreign &Commonwealth Office, Ashridge Management Centre, the Judge Institute, Pfizer, Boehringer Ingelheim, Baker Tilly, Allied Domecq, John Smiths and its parent company, Scottish Courage, the Housing Corporation, the RAC, Ogilvy One and many others.

Tim set up Ci:Creative intelligence in April 2005 to continue and develop his work for existing and new clients.

As well as working in Britain, Tim is in demand abroad. Over the last few years, he has worked in America, Ireland, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Holland and Slovenia.

Tim is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and he serves as a director of Cheek by Jowl, the innovative international theatre company. Incidentally, the photos used in this website were taken by Keith Pattison and show rehearsals of Cheek by Jowl's 2004 production of Othello, directed by Declan Donnellan and designed by Nick Ormerod.
